The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton

Read: Sept. 6 2012

I really liked this book. It has a bit of everything thrown in to make one hell of a dish.

Mick and Tara were very easy to like, as well as Nathan. Can't say the same for Liz, but we already get a peak into what she might become (which is at least a lot nicer, I hope).

This book has just the right amount of playfulness, love, tender and care, and sexy bits, and they all contribute to it being such an enjoyable read (so enjoyable that I read it in less than one day).

I thought everything was well played out, I was just sorry that it took the two main characters so long to figure everything out, but I loved that last scene and all that it implied.

I'm not sure up to what point their relationship will be developed in the next books, because as the other characters take on the main roles, theirs will be a bit left out, so I hope I get to at least know how they're doing and what's next for them.

The Redhead Revealed by Alice Clayton

Read: Aug. 27-28 2012

Oh dear. This book was just as awesome as the previous and first one in the series!

Of course, in this one there was a bit more drama, and I found myself crying at at least two parts of the book, especially when all hell breaks loose somewhere in the middle of the novel. But I'm happy to say there is definitely a happy ending.

The reasons why I loved the first book were in this one as well, sometimes even more so, which of course, means it was stupidly funny, incredibly romantic (in a very Gracie and George way) and had some pretty good 'sexy times'.

I honestly cannot wait for the third book!

The Unidentified Redhead by Alice Clayton

I really loved reading this book.

The main character Grace is super funny, I absolutely loved her sense of humor to which I could relate a lot. And I loved the way her and Jack clicked through that crazy-ass humor. They just spoke their minds to each other and I really enjoyed (to not say 'love' again) seeing them interact.

I was just seriously smiling all the way through the book, and laughing out loud in a lot of parts of it, especially when Grace and Jack were together.

I'm going to read 'The Redhead Revealed' right away, because these characters have got me hooked.

More Than Words by Karla Doyle

I absolutely loved this book. I basically say this about every book I read, although I love some more than others, but I think it all comes down to the fact that I am able to choose from the synopses books that I know I'm going to love which is good, because it means I'm not making myself waste time by reading something I'm not going to like.

So returning to the book, we find two really cool and interesting characters, Calli and Travis. Calli is the owner of a 'romance' shop, that's how she calls her sex shop, and Travis is in a local but successful rock band, but he earns his money as a web designer. She hasn't gone out in the dark for two years because she was assaulted once while going to get her money in the bank close to her shop and went into hospital, so she's been afraid to be outside when it's dark ever since; he's got sort of the typical behavior of a very attractive rock star, meaning women are all over him when his band plays at bars and he get his fair share of them.

I really liked how these characters meet, because it wasn't very typical, and it was really cute and I loved their whole interactions through their Scrabble games on the internet.

After they meet in person, Calli has to tell Travis about her 'condition', and he tells her about his ladies' man past, and how he wants to change, and that's really how their journey moves on and progresses. Calli struggles with her fear, while Travis tries to 'save' her from it, by pushing her too far at a point, and also trying to leave his old ways behind.

Their path hits a point where they separate for about two months, and my internal romantic was really sad by it, because as I'm also a firm believer in happy endings I knew they must end up together, but at the same time, they had to surpass all these obstacles they had in their relationship and also within themselves, but they  got through it and my happy ending prevailed.

Fifty Shades of Grey

I absolutely loved this book!

I'm a sucker for love stories and this one didn't fall short.

I first heard of it because of that SNL skit about mother's day when all the moms are interrupted while reading the book, and I was immediately curious. It took me a few weeks of building up, while seeing a lot of people talking about this, and then I finally bought it.
I was mostly drawn to it because according to what I saw it was erotic, and had a lot of steamy sex scenes in it, and those are kind of my favorite scenes in the books I read (such as the Sookie Stackhouse novels). I was also expecting it to be just about that, and that it wouldn't really have a plot if that was really the focus of the book.

But I was wrong. It is about the sex, but it also has so much more to that. I loved the characters and I felt like I could identify with Ana, which is always something I like in a book (being able to identify with the main character), because it makes me more involved in the story and I'm able to understand their actions better, and it also makes me like them more. Then, came Christian. Well, anything I say about him won't do him justice, so I'll just say that he brought up a lot of emotions for me, along with Ana, of course.

Their relationship is just something else. Their personalities, although clashing so much, make a lot of sense together, and anyone who has read the book, and especially the other two, knows that they evolve into something so deep, you can't help but to get fixated in their story, and just continue reading.

The story has some twists and turns, (although I'm also thinking a little about the next two of the trilogy) mostly related to how Ana and Christian relate and get along, and in the other books it just gets better, and a bit more complex.

Just to finish up, I was so struck by this book, I immediately went and read the other two; and after finishing the series, I didn't know what to do with myself. I cried a lot while reading all of them, especially the third one (but I guess I'll make separate reviews for them as well), because I got really caught up in the story of these characters.

So, I basically read the entire series again, and it might have been even better the second time around, because there little hints that I picked up on that I hadn't really understood when I had first read it.

Hello there

Ok, so I decided to create this blog in the spur of the moment, but it was probably something in the back of my mind for some time now.
In this blog, I plan to review (in my own way) any of the books I read, and to report on my progress on them. It'll definitely be something interesting to try, since I'll have to think more about what I read, rather than just read away. And this will also make me read more, I hope.
Anyway, I should start reviewing in about a week, just as soon as I finish what I'm reading now, and finish my exams.
