I absolutely loved this book. I basically say this about every book I read, although I love some more than others, but I think it all comes down to the fact that I am able to choose from the synopses books that I know I'm going to love which is good, because it means I'm not making myself waste time by reading something I'm not going to like.
So returning to the book, we find two really cool and interesting characters, Calli and Travis. Calli is the owner of a 'romance' shop, that's how she calls her sex shop, and Travis is in a local but successful rock band, but he earns his money as a web designer. She hasn't gone out in the dark for two years because she was assaulted once while going to get her money in the bank close to her shop and went into hospital, so she's been afraid to be outside when it's dark ever since; he's got sort of the typical behavior of a very attractive rock star, meaning women are all over him when his band plays at bars and he get his fair share of them.
I really liked how these characters meet, because it wasn't very typical, and it was really cute and I loved their whole interactions through their Scrabble games on the internet.
After they meet in person, Calli has to tell Travis about her 'condition', and he tells her about his ladies' man past, and how he wants to change, and that's really how their journey moves on and progresses. Calli struggles with her fear, while Travis tries to 'save' her from it, by pushing her too far at a point, and also trying to leave his old ways behind.
Their path hits a point where they separate for about two months, and my internal romantic was really sad by it, because as I'm also a firm believer in happy endings I knew they must end up together, but at the same time, they had to surpass all these obstacles they had in their relationship and also within themselves, but they got through it and my happy ending prevailed.
